Marvin Berry and The Starlighters

Marvin Berry and The Starlighters is a fictional band portrayed in the 1985 film Back to the Future.^[1] The members of the band are Harry Waters Jr. (as Marvin Berry)(supposed to be the cousin of real-life Chuck Berry) performing lead vocals and guitar, and The Starlighters: Tommy Thomas on saxophone, Granville 'Danny' Young on the upright bass, David Harold Brown (as Reginald) on drums and Lloyd L. Tolbert on the piano. Tolbert, too, is a drummer, but played the keyboards for the studio recording.^[2] In the movie this band performed at the Enchantment Under the Sea dance.^[1]

Campbell and May received a "Special Thanks" acknowledgment in the film's end credits, with the recording credit going to the fictional characters.
